St. Pius X Music Ministry Opportunities

Our St. Pius Parish is very blessed to have a large, vibrant and growing music ministry. If you or someone you know loves music, we invite you to consider joining one of our ensembles by contacting our Parish Music Director Brian Hoffman at music@stpiusxloudonville.org.

Youth Choir (Grades 3-8)

The St. Pius X Youth Choir sings on the first Saturday of every month (October – June) at the 5:00 mass.

Rehearsals are Mondays from 3:15 – 3:45. The Youth Choir sings a blend of traditional and contemporary sacred music and is an excellent forum for cultivating young people’s musical skills.

Contemporary Ensemble (High School/College/Young Adult)

Our contemporary ensemble consists of singers and instrumentalists who lead the music for our Sunday 10am masses, on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month, September – June. Rehearsals take place an hour before each mass we play.

Parish Choir (Adult)

Adults of all ages join together to sing every 2nd & 4th Sundays, September – June, at our 10 am masses and the various Holy Days throughout the church year. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings 7:00 – 8:00. Traditional musical styles range from Gregorian Chant through modern composers.

Cantor Ministry

Cantors serve as Ministers of the Living Word of God as well as to assist the Organist/Music Director in leading congregational singing.  Anyone interested in this vital ministerial role is invited to audition with the parish music director. Upon satisfactory completion of the audition, further training and rehearsal is given so that all cantors become effective worship leaders. Cantors are present on a rotational basis at all church masses containing music throughout the church year.
