Funerals at St. Pius X

All of us at St. Pius X recognize how hard it is to lose someone and we are here to assist you in the process of making the Funeral Mass arrangements for your loved one.  Once we have a time with the funeral home, our Pastoral Care Coordinator, Linda Green, will reach out to you.

We are also available to assist you in pre-planning a funeral.  If you have a loved one that is ill, or perhaps you are pre-planning for yourself, pre-planning will allow things to be less stressful at the time of passing.  If you would like to discuss pre-planning, or if you have any other questions, please contact Linda Green at 518-462-1336

Watch a Funeral Via Livestream

If you have family or friends out of the area who won’t be able to be there in person, we offer livestreaming at no charge to you. We will provide you a link to send those who can’t be there so they they can watch the service live. This service is only available for services in the church, it is not available in the chapel.

Plan A Funeral Today

If you live out of the area, or because of other commitments are unable to come in and meet with us, please use this page to help plan the Funeral Mass for your loved one. You will find readings and music selections listed below, as well as guidelines in case someone chooses to do a reflection.

Once you have decided on your readings and music selections, complete the Mass Information form to finalize your choices. Linda, our Pastoral Care Coordinator, will be in contact to confirm its receipt.

Step 1: Contact the Funeral Home

The first step in having a funeral at St. Pius X is to contact the Funeral Home you plan on working with. The Funeral Home will contact us to coordinate when the funeral mass will take place.

Step 2: Choose Readings

Step 3: Choose Music

Below you will find a sampling of each hymn on our funeral music sheet. These were recorded by our music director and one of our cantors, so these will give you a great idea of what the hymns will sound like during the services for your loved one.

The following hymns are used for the gathering hymn, the offertory hymn, the communion hymn and the closing hymn:

Amazing Grace

Be Not Afraid

Eye Has Not Seen

For All the Saints

Here I Am, Lord

Hosea

How Great Thou Art

I Am the Bread of Life

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

Jesu Joy of our Desiring

Let There Be Peace On Earth

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling

On Eagle’s Wings

Prayer of St. Francis

Precious Lord, Take My Hand

Sing With All the Saints in Glory

You Are Near

The following are two choices for the communion meditation:

Ave Maria

Hail Mary, Gentle Woman (link to come)
